The 1753 Exercise For Memorizing Chord Changes (Ex. Donna Lee)

This is one of my favorite exercises for internalizing chord changes and the form of a tune. The video and PDF will walk you through the step-by-step. As always, going slow is your biggest ally to progress. This will help you build a strong scaffolding around the harmony and retain the song’s progression. Think of this like creating the thick black lines in a coloring book: once you have this in place, you’ll begin to hear how to color inside those lines with your ideas.
